Clarissa, originally from the United Kingdom, lived in China from 2009 to 2014 during which time she worked as the associate editor and books editor for Time Out Beijing and the art editor for Time Out Shanghai. She wrote regularly for American and British newspapers including The Economist, Financial Times, Los Angeles Times and Wall Street Journal, among others. She has profiled everyone from designer Tom Ford to the author Lionel Shriver and has worked across Asia writing on topics ranging from the aftermath of the Japanese tsunami to tourism in North Korea. She was also an op-ed columnist for the International New York Times, reporting from China for the blog Latitude: Views From Around the World. She now lives in Sydney.
